1. How to record Stereo Sound in Windows XP
To record ‘Computer Sound’ and ‘Your Voice’ at the same time, use the ‘Two Sound Mixing’ option of Bandicam.
If there is no sound for the captured video in Windows XP, it's usually the 'Stereo Mix' setting problem.
Depending on the setting of the user's system, the audio cannot be recorded (or volume of the recorded sound is too low).
In such case, the following adjustment in the setting needs to be made for the user's system.
- Select the 'Open Volume Control' option in the system tray and run the 'Volume Control' window. (If there is no 'Open Volume Control' option in the system tray, you can run the 'Volume Control' window by clicking Window Start > Setting > Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices.)
- Select the 'Properties' from the 'Volume Control' window.
- Select the 'Recording' icon from the 'Properties' window, and then check the 'Stereo Mix' button. (If there is no ‘Stereo Mix' option, you can check 'Wake Output Mix', Stereo Out, Mixed Output, Loop Back, and the like. If you can't check ‘Recording’ icon, you should change the ‘Mixer Device’ at the top of the 'Properties')
- If there is the 'Mute' check-box instead of the 'Select' check-box, the box needs to be unchecked.
- If you set the stereo mix setting properly, you may see the sound bar when recording.
Tips
- If you still can't record the sound, change the ‘Sound Device’ of Bandicam
- Do not choose 'USB Sound Card' or 'USB Headset' in Windows XP.
If you use Windows 7/Vista, you can record computer sounds with the USB Headset/Sound Device. However, you can't record computer sounds with the USB device in Windows XP.
2. How to record your voice in Windows XP (Microphone Recording)
To record your voice in Windows XP, you have to enable "Microphone" in Volume Control.
- Select the 'Open Control Volume' option after pushing the button on the right side of the tray icon (Lower right on the window).
- Select the 'Properties' option from the 'Volume Control' window.
- After selecting the 'Recording' option from the 'Properties' window, check the 'Microphone' option.
- In the 'Record Control' window, the ‘Mute' check-box needs to be unchecked.
Tip : If you still have the microphone recording problem, select the 'Playback' option from the 'Properties' window, and then check the 'Microphone' option and uncheck the 'Mute' check-box of Microphone.
3. Multiple sound recording in Windows XP (Two Sound Mixing)
- Click ‘Settings’ button under the Video tab
- Select ‘Primary Sound Capture Driver’
- Select ‘Microphone’ menu under the ‘Secondary Sound Device’. (Tip : If there is no "Microphone" option, you can check 'Realtek HD Audio Input' and the like.)
- If you checked "Two Sound Mixing" option, you can get one mixed audio sound (Recommended) {Tip If you unchecked "Two Sound Mixing" option, you can get two separated audio sound (Not Recommended)}
- If you checked 'Only record Secondary Device’ while pushing [Space] option, you can only record microphone sound while pushing Space Bar key on the keyboard.
